Son nom d\u00e9coule de cette utilisation\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0chien \u00e0 cane\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0canichon\u00a0\u00bb\u2026 et enfin caniche. La France est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme le berceau de cette race m\u00eame si ses origines lointaines seraient des chiens d\u2019eau portugais ou autres chiens d\u2019Afrique du Nord. A partir du XVIII\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, ce chien fut miniaturis\u00e9 pour plaire aux dames de la haute soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Devenant\u00a0 populaire, il fut le chien de compagnie le plus r\u00e9pandu au monde. Le premier club fut cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris en 1922.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Caract\u00e9ristiques morphologiques :<\/h2>\n<p>Le poids du Caniche :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Royal\u00a0\u00bb est de 22 kg environ.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Moyen\u00a0\u00bb est de 12 kg environ.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Nain\u00a0\u00bb est de 7 kg environ.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Toy\u00a0\u00bb est de moins de 7 kg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La taille du Caniche :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Royal\u00a0\u00bb est de 50 cm environ au garrot.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Moyen\u00a0\u00bb est de 40 cm environ au garrot.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Nain\u00a0\u00bb est de 30 cm environ au garrot.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab\u00a0Toy\u00a0\u00bb est de moins de 30 cm au garrot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sa robe peut \u00eatre noire, marron, grise ou abricot. Son poil est boucl\u00e9 ou cord\u00e9. Il est abondant, fin et laineux. Sa t\u00eate est fine. Son stop est peu marqu\u00e9. Son chanfrein est rectiligne et assez long. Les oreilles tombent sur les joues. Elles sont assez grandes et recouvertes de poils longs. Les yeux sont en amande et de couleur fonc\u00e9e (noirs ou bruns). Ses membres sont muscl\u00e9s. Son ossature est bonne et ses pieds sont petits. Sa queue est coup\u00e9e de moiti\u00e9 chez les caniches boucl\u00e9s. Elle est attach\u00e9e haute et port\u00e9e dress\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h2>Caract\u00e8re :<\/h2>\n<p>Le caniche est actif, gai, sociable, \u00e9veill\u00e9 et intelligent. C\u2019est un bon nageur et son odorat est tr\u00e8s fin.<\/p>\n<h2>Education, habitat et entretien :<\/h2>\n<p>Son \u00e9ducation sera ferme car il peut vite devenir tr\u00e8s difficile. Le caniche peut vivre dans une maison avec jardin ou dans un appartement. Il faut veiller \u00e0 le brosser quotidiennement. Ce chien a l\u2019avantage de ne pas muer et donc de peu perdre ses poils.<\/p>\n<h2>Sant\u00e9 :<\/h2>\n<p>Victime de son succ\u00e8s, sa s\u00e9lection n\u2019a pas toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 draconienne. Il s\u2019en suit des pr\u00e9dispositions \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes maladies g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques souvent encr\u00e9es dans certaines lign\u00e9es (diab\u00e8te insipide, n\u00e9phropathie juv\u00e9nile, persistance du canal art\u00e9riel, cataracte, d\u00e9faut d\u2019implantation des cils).
